On Thursday 11th December, 42 children from Years 4 and 5 spent the day at Arundel Cathedral, getting festive and filling a packed audience with the spirit of Christmas!

They had worked hard this half term, learning four Christmas songs, which they workshopped and then performed alongside choirs from six other local primary schools, led by West Sussex Singing Lead Emily Barden.

The songs included the classic "Little Donkey", a complicated three part arrangement of "Winter Carol" by Fiona Lander, and a lively number composed by Emily herself, from the point of view of an item of clothing unused for 11 months of the year: "Christmas Jumper"!

Choir leader Mrs Whittaker said, "I could not be prouder of our amazing children. They sang their hearts out, represented the school wonderfully and we all had an amazing time."

Daisy , Year 5, said, "This was just the best day ever. I had been really excited about it because it was so much fun last year, and now I'm already excited for next year!"
